Robert 'Red' C. Angert
Robert "Red" C. Angert, 76, of Butler, passed away Thursday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
He was born May 27, 1936, in Butler, the son of the late Joseph Angert and the late Mary (Millhiser) Angert.
Red was a member of the St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church where he was an usher for many years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from being a supervisor at Armco after 39 years. Red worked at Young Funeral Home for several years.
He was a previous board member at Armco Credit Union, and was on the board and on the head of the house committee of Armco Country Club. He belonged to the Elks, Moose, Knights of Columbus and Lyndora American Legion Post 778.
He is survived by his wife, N. Joan (Christy) Angert of Butler; two sons, Patrick Angert of Eugene, Ore., and Kevin (Stacey) Angert of Fenelton; two grandchildren, Austin and Kayla Angert; a sister, Helen Limegrover of Butler; and sister-in-law, Ruth (Frank) Pontera, Canandaigua, N.Y.
ANGERT - Friends of Robert "Red" C. Angert, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, will be received at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Military honors will be given at 6 p.m. by VFW Post 249 and Lyndora American Legion Post 778.
Mass will be at the St. Peter's Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler, at 10 a.m. Monday with Father Kevin Fazio officiating.
Interment will follow in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butler VNA, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
