Robert 'Posy' Flowers
Robert F. "Posy" Flowers, 91, of Grove City died at 5 a.m. Friday at Orchard Manor.
He was born in Harmony on April 22, 1921, to William J. Flowers and Myrtle Fehl Flowers.
He married Georgia "Becky" Starr on Dec. 7, 1946.
Bob was in business with his brother William. They operated Flowers Hardware in downtown Grove City, which was in business from 1949 to 1988.
He was a member of the East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City.
Bob, known to many as "Posy," grew up in Butler and was a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1939. He was a musician and formerly played the trumpet in orchestras and bands in the Butler area and during his military career.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from September 1942 to January 1946.
He was an avid bowler and golfer and formerly was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Kiwanis, both of Grove City.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Robyn Reeher and her husband, Gene, of Portersville; one son, Timothy R. Flowers of Grove City; four grandchildren, Justin R. Flowers of Fayetteville, N.C., Nikita D. Flowers of Grove City, and Alexis A. Reeher and Ian K. Reeher, both Portersville; and one great-grandson, Eli Flowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William J. Flowers.
FLOWERS - Visitation for Robert F. "Posy" Flowers, who died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
Funeral services will at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Zelienople Community Cemetery Mausoleum.
