Ronald E. Leitem, 80, of Chicora passed away Thursday at Concordia Lutheran Home in Cabot.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1933, in Butler to the late Edward and Margaret (Angert) Leitem.
He worked for Castle Rubber as a check-in and sketch man and retired from there on Feb. 1, 1998, following 47 years' service.
He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received a Good Conduct and a National Service Defense Medal.
Surviving are his six children, Daniel D. (Barb) Leitem of Chicora, Ronda M. (Daniel) Shilling of Sandy Lake, Lorina Y. (George) Himes of Sligo, Teresa M. Griffin of Beaver Falls, Curtis C. Leitem of Pittsburgh, and Julie A. McNough of South Carolina, and his 12 grandchildren and his 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Donna (Jim) Desmond of Butler and Betty (George) Fischer of Butler; his brother, James (Linda) Leitem of Chicora, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
LEITEM - There will be no public visitation for Ronald E. Leitem, who passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to take place at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler, at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
In lieu of flowers, send donations in memory of Ronald E. Leitem to The Parish Share Program, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St. Butler, PA 16001.
