Samuel V. Puntureri, 88, of Lake Wales, Fla., died Thursday in Winter Haven, Fla.
He was born on Nov. 17, 1923, in Apollo, raised in Grove City and moved to Lake Wales in 2005.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He owned Sam's Barber Shop in Pittsburgh and was a retired head custodian from the North Allegheny School District.
Sam was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, active in the Elks, a member of the Lake Ashton Veterans Association and a member of the Catholic Church of Saint Matthew in Winter Haven, Fla.
Sam is survived by his wife, Judith A. Puntureri; sisters, Genevieve Perry of Mercer and Stella Stanzione of Tarentum; brothers, Rock and his wife, Louise, of Butler and Albert and his wife, Judith, of Hermitage; sisters-in-law, Patricia of Sharon and Jacki of New Castle; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lee Ann; a sister, Teresa; a brother, Vincent; and brothers-in-law, Nick and Richard.
PUNTURERI - Samuel V. Puntureri died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012. A Mass of Christian burial will be in Florida.
