Shelby J. Barger
Shelby J. Barger, 70, of Allegheny Township, Parker, passed away early Sunday morning at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following an illness.
Born June 1, 1938, in Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Dale and Edna Conner Watterson.
She was a dedicated Christian lady and a longtime devoted member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Six Points.
A loving wife and caring mother and grandmother, she also spent time caring for and cleaning homes for many area families.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Blair "Jack" Barger, who she married March 19, 1954; three daughters, Jackie (Alan) Ion and Karen Sheesman, both of Parker and Ellen (John) Macurak of Marienville; one son, Donnie (Rondia) Barger of Emlenton; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rodney and Dennis Watterson, both of Mercer; and a number of nieces and nephews.
BARGER - Friends of Shelby J. Barger, who died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Bishop Alan Ion, of the Church of God of Prophecy and her son-in-law officiating, assisted by the Rev. Brent McMasters of the Six Points Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Conneration, Clarion County.
