Susan Marie Thiebaud

Susan Marie Thiebaud
Susan Marie Thiebaud, 58, of Pittsburgh passed away Sunday.
She was born on June 18, 1954, in Schuylkill Haven, Pa.
She was deeply loved by her four daughters, Rachel, Sarah, Justine and Ashley, as well as her granddaughter, Lilliana Susan.
Susan was a 1972 graduate of Blue Mountain High School and a 1976 graduate of Slippery Rock University, earning her bachelor's degree in elementary education and a minor in English. Susan performed as a Rockette and proudly baby-sat for the college president's children.
Susan taught first and second grade at Moraine Elementary School.
She continued her education by obtaining her master's degree in guidance and counseling from Slippery Rock University. After earning her master's degree, Susan was offered a position in counseling, but she proudly declined so that she could be a stay-at-home mom.
Susan's love of teaching brought her back into the classroom in the form of substitute teaching and tutoring homebound students for 14 years.
Susan was well known for her kind nature and acceptance of all students. Her love of learning and desire to become an effective educator led her to continue her education at Duquesne University. Even while battling breast cancer, Susan continued taking classes so that she could earn her principal's certificate, which she accomplished in the spring of 2012.
Susan was actively involved in the Catholic Church in Butler and later the Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh. She enjoyed being a part of Soup and Study, Butler Praise and Coffee, Meals on Wheels, in addition to volunteering at the Messy Church, Sunday school, and youth group.
In her free time, Susan enjoyed traveling with her daughters, writing, baking, taking care of her granddaughter, singing and dancing, taking care of her two kittens, and always encouraging people to pay it forward and to put God first.
She is survived by her four daughters, Rachel and Christopher Tamanini, Sarah Thiebaud, Justine Thiebaud and her fiance, Andrew Adkins, and Ashley Thiebaud, and beloved granddaughter, Lilliana Susan Tamanini.
