W. Gregg Kerr

W. Gregg Kerr, 86 of Saxonburg passed away peacefully Sunday surrounded by his loving family.
Born Oct. 30, 1927, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late William Gregg Kerr and Catherine (Evans) Kerr.
Gregg was a 1945 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School.
He served active duty in the U.S. Naval Aviation Service and was discharged in May 1947. Gregg graduated from Cornell in 1949 and University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1952.
He spent his career as a partner with Eckert, Seamans, Cherin & Mellott in the litigation and corporate departments. He was past chairman of the International Lawyers' Group.
Gregg has served many years as a board member of the Butler County Airport Authority.
He was an accomplished photographer and shotgun shooter, and an avid aviator. He enjoyed fishing, sailing, reading, travel and classical music.
Surviving are loving children, Stephen Bruce (Kathy) Kerr of Green Brook, N.J., Brian Keith (Michele) Kerr of Pittsburgh, Douglas Gregg Kerr of Sarver, Robert Duncan (Eve) Kerr of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Wendy Kerr (Fernando) Recio of Cabot; his grandchildren, Geoffrey Matthew (Lauren) Kerr of Tuscan, Ariz., Jeramie Paige Kerr of Green Brook, N.J., W. Teague Kerr and Kendel Jane Kerr of Pittsburgh, Jessica Audrey Kerr and Rachel Julia Kerr of Ann Arbor, Mich., Christopher Douglas Recio of Knoxville, Tenn., and Megan Elizabeth Recio of Cabot; his great-granddaughter, River Juliete Kerr of Tuscan, Ariz., his sister, Mary "Kay" Catherine Atteberry of Kansas City, Kansas; and his beloved companion Gretchen E. Hart of Pittsburgh.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Jane Backus Kerr, in 1982.
KERR - The friends of W. Gregg Kerr, who passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014, will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at FOX FUNERAL HOME Inc., 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
