Joan A. DeMore, 81, of Karns City died Tuesday at the Chicora Medical Center.
Born July 22, 1930, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Hubert O. and Alice M. (Murphy) Hoffmann.
Joan graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School. On May 26, 1951, she married John J. DeMore.
Joan was a member of the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend, where she was a member of the Young at Heart.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and sewing.
Surviving are her seven daughters, Janet Lizik and her husband, Robert, of Kittanning, Judy Donatelli and her husband, Robert, of Pittsburgh, Jane Klaus and her husband, Tim, of Winter Park, Fla., Joyce Brooks and her husband, Frank, of Orlando, Fla., JoAnn Klacic and her husband, Michael, of Pittsburgh, Jeanne Andreassi of Altoona and Jacqueline Campeau and her husband, Thomas, of Natrona Heights; and two sons, James DeMore and his wife, Dawn, of Gibsonia and John DeMore and his wife, Jen, of Springdale.
Joan also is survived by three sisters, Sylvia Procyk, Phyllis Raleigh and Alice Stringer; three brothers Karl, Robert and John Hoffmann; 21 grandchildren; and four great -grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, who died Dec. 2, 1995; and one sister, Marilyn Sincevich.
DEMORE - Friends of Joan A. DeMore, who died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home, 105 4th St., East Brady.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend, with the Rev. Douglas Dorula officiating. The burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Bradys Bend.
In lieu of flowers, Joan's family requests donations be made to the Pennsylvania Chapter of the , 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
