Larry L. Gnade, 68, of Hemet, Calif., formerly of the Butler area, passed away Nov. 28, 2012, at Hemet Hospital with his loving family by his side, following a month's illness.
Larry was born in Butler on Feb. 11, 1944. He was the son of the late Grace C. (McNamee) Gnade and Karl W. Gnade.
He graduated from Karns City High School while living with cousins, Ron, Dannie, John and Brian McGinnis. He moved to Hemet and received his associate of arts degree from Mt. San Jacinto College.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Thailand for two years.
He was married for 47 years to Diane Stirdivant.
After many years in the shoe business, he retired as part owner of Stirdivant's Shoe Store in Hemet. His many joys were traveling with Diane, playing cards and dominoes and visiting his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife; his son, Travis Gnade and his partner, Marie, and their son, Bryce, of Lecenter, Wash.; son, Timothy Gnade and his wife, Naomi, and their children, son, Logan, and daughter, Easton, of Woodland, Wash.; and two grandsons, the late Tracie Gnade Yohe's children, Kyle and Chad of Hemet.
Also surviving are a sister, Joyce (Jim) Slater of North Washington; one brother, Richard (Susan) Gnade of Danville, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Nancy Gnade (Carl) of Butler; his mother-in-law, Vi Stirdivant of Hemet; brother-in-law, Harry Stirdivant and his wife, Ingrid, of Hemet; sister-in-law, Sandy Sweeney; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tracie Gnade Yohe; and a brother, Carl Gnade of Butler.
GNADE - A funeral service and interment for Larry L. Gnade, who died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, was held earlier in California.
