Chester Best Obituary
Chester Guy "Pete" Best Jr., 74, of Eldorado, Parker Township, died early Tuesday at the Grove City Medical Center after an illness.
Born in Piney Township, Clarion County, Dec. 9, 1933, he was the son of Chester Guy Sr. and Cecil Redick Best.
He was a Protestant.
Mr. Best was a truck driver and machinist most of his adult life.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the Air Force and was honorably discharged with the Korean Service Medal, the U.N. Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the VFW Hilliards Post 7840 and the Foxburg American Legion Post.
Surviving are his wife, Twila Pennington Best; three daughters, Mrs. Rick (Shelly) Kriebel of Florida, Mrs. William (Tina) Cochran of Eldorado and Carey Dorgan of Eau Claire; two sons, Peter (Michelle) Best and Daniel (Tina) Best, both of Eldorado; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Valjean Shook and Kay (James) Shook of Curllsville, Clarion County; a brother, Eugene Best of Harrisville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
BEST - Memorial services for Chester Guy "Pete" Best Jr., who died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Main Street/Route 38, Eau Claire. Private burial will be at the Salem Cemetery, Annisville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bruin Volunteer Fire Department, Bruin, PA 16022.
