Mary Jo (Campbell) Nolan, 93, of Butler died peacefully Saturday at St. Anne Home, Greensburg.
She was born and raised on the Charles F. Campbell and Mary A. (McNamara) Campbell farm, which later became known as Campbell's Acres, west of Butler.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
She had loved to dance, read, garden and bake. Her family favorites were her Northern Spy apple pies and Lady Baltimore cakes, which were made from scratch for birthdays and special occasions.
Mary Jo was the last surviving member of her immediate family In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Clifford "Joe" Nolan, who died March 7, 1975; three brothers, John, Merle and William Campbell; two sisters, Iva Campbell and Agnes (Campbell) Hood; a brother-in-law, Dean Nolan (Lillian); sisters-in-law, Sister Mildred Nolan, Helen Nolan and Charles Williams, and Ruth (Nolan) Rider and James Rider.
Surviving are her son, Charles F. (Linda) Nolan of Meadville; two daughters, Patricia N. (Thomas) Jachimowicz of Greensburg and Lorraine E. Berard of Portland, Ore.; two grandchildren, Amber L. (Brad) Johnston of Meadville and Ashley Berard of Telluride, Colo; a great-granddaughter, Claralee Kay Johnston of Meadville; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
NOLAN - Friends of Mary Jo (Campbell) Nolan, who died Saturday, March 5, 2011, will be received at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 3 until 7 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler. The Rev. James Dolan, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peter Parish Cemetery, Butler.
The Women's Council of St. Peter will meet at 10:40 a.m. Thursday at the church to recite the rosary.
The family wishes memorial contributions be made to St. Anne Home, 685 Angela Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601.
