My condolences to the family of Alex. This is a note of comfort to all who knew and loved her. God is for us a refuge and strength, a help that is readily to be found during distresses. {Psalms 46:1} Take time to throw all your burden on God because he loves you.

I didn't know her, but we had many mutual friends (plus my best friend is her cousins) From all the posts on Facebook, Ales seemed like a very friendly, Christ like young lady. Her friends and family will be in my Prayers.

Dear Family in Christ---I came to New Life for about six months. You are a family and you are so blessed to have these people to hold you up during this very difficult time. Do not lose heart----To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I am a mom, too and I am very sorry for your loss. The greatest thing about Alexis is you know she is with Jesus and touched many lives in her short well-lived life.

If we could have a lifetime wish and one dream that could come true,we would pray to God with all our hearts just to see and speak to you. A thousand words won't bring you back. We know because we've tried. And neither will a million tears. We know because we've cried. You've left behind our broken hearts and precious memories too. But, we've never wanted memories, we only wanted you..... If flowers grow in Heaven, Lord then pick a bunch for me. Please place them in my daughter's arms and tell her they're from me. Tell her that I love and miss her. And when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile.... So sorry for your loss! You are in my thoughts and prayers!

We share the sorrow in our hearts this Sabboth morning with you over your precious daughter's death. As a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, I cannot imagine your pain. Alex and I share the same favorite scripture verse...I can do all things through him who strengthens me..Phil.4:13. I've worn that bracelet every day since receiving it from my best friend 3 years ago. Every day I look at it now until the dear Lord takes me home, I will remember Alex....and I never knew this beautiful daughter.
Peace,

Brian & Tammy, We were so deeply saddened to hear about the death of your beautiful daughter, Alexis. We remember her as such an adorable, quiet young girl sitting between her parents in church when we were pastoring COC. She was just precious! I remember asking her to play the offertory once or twice. I wanted to encourage her to keep taking piano lessons. We have been away and were not able to come to the funeral home. But we want you to know that our hearts ache with yours. Please know you will be in our thoughts and prayers in the difficult days ahead. With deepest sympathy, Pastor Gary & Mary Anne Sansom

Pastor Chris always says "a Church is not a building but rather a community of people who want to become better Christians and followers of Jesus Christ." The South Butler community has reflected on how much of a good person Alexis was AND how much she loved the Lord. We can only hope that her legacy will lead others to share her faith and find comfort in knowing that she is enjoying eternal life. May the peace that passes understanding be with you now and always............

THE BORROWED GEM
I'll lend you for a little time
A child of mine, He said.
For you to love the while she lives
And mourn for when she's dead.
It may be seventeen or eighteen years,
Or twenty-two or three;
But will you, ‘till I call her back
Take care of her for me?
She'll bring her charm to gladden you,
And shall her stay be brief,
You'll have her lovely memories
As solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay,
Since all from earth return;
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over
In my search for teachers true,
And from the throng that crowds life's lanes,
I've selected you.
Now will you give her all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call
To take her back again.
I fancied that I heard you say,
Dear Lord, Thy will be done;
For all the joy Thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
And though we wish we had more time,
We'll love her while we may;
And for the happiness we've known,
Forever grateful stay.
But shall the angels call for her
Much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that came,
And try to understand.
SHE SLEEPS
There is no death-
She only sleeps;
And smile and dreams;
‘tis we who weep.
And think within
Our aching hearts,
Of how we loved
This winsome Child.
And with each thought,
The fresh tears start;
But near to God,
An angel smiles-
And lifting up
Her little Voice,
She asks of Him this Blessing:
That He may send to us,
The grace to say:
“THY WILL BE DONE.”

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. I didn't know her, but my son William did. He also passed away in a tragic accident on July 15, 2010. Nothing will take away the hurt, but I know it helps to know how much she was loved by so many. I have a beautiful picture of your daughter with my son. We would never trade the time we had with our babies, no matter how short, and we must know that God had a bigger plan for them. Never a loss, always a blessing.

Brian & Tammy,
May God be your strength during this difficult time. I did not know Alexis but it's obvious she is loved by many. She touched many lives and this will continue as you celebrate her life, not mourn her death. Nearly 10 years ago I lost my sister when she was 20 years old. God has a plan which is not revealed to us clearly. Alex is dancing on streets that are golden...with her brother, grandfather, and even my sister. Standing on the promises of God we cannot fall. The free gift of God is eternal life. Your family is in my prayers. May you have peace in knowing Alex loved Jesus!

A Broken Heart
How do I mend a broken heart?
My entire world has fallen apart.
How do I find hope in a brand new day,
when the one I love has gone away?
My mind overflows with memories of you,
of all that we've shared, all that we knew.
I long for your touch and your warm embrace,
the look in your eyes, the smile on your face.
My dreams are filled with your soft gentle kiss,
I wake and cry for all that I miss.
How do I mend a broken heart,
when my one true love and I are apart?
My heart knows to love only you, it won't let go, what do I do?
Our moments together were precious and few,
but I cherished them all more than you knew.
I love you my angel and always will,
I loved you then and I love you still.
