Gary Douglas Ray II
Gary Douglas Ray II, 18, of Toms River, N.J., passed away in an accidental drowning July 2.
He was born on Feb. 9, 1995, to parents Andrea Leith of Toms River, N.J., and Gary Ray Sr. of Butler.
Gary Douglas was voted "Most Unique" by his senior class at Manchester Township High School, was an avid musician and a guitar player. He was very interested in a career in the audio industry and had been enrolled in the Ocean County Vocational Technical School's Audio Recording program. Everyone that knew him considered him a "Rock Star" and he will be sadly missed by all.
Ray is survived by his mother of Toms River, N.J.; his father of Butler; his sisters, Rhiannon Silvers of Toms River, N.J., and Isabella Davis-Ray of Butler; grandparents, Frances Leith of Butler, Patricia Pranulis of Prospect and Gordon and Patricia Ray of Butler. He also is survived by an uncle, Douglas Leith III of Fredonia, Pa.
Ray was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Douglas Leith Jr., and an uncle, Frank Ray.
RAY - Family and friends of Gary Douglas Ray II, who passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013, are invited to gather at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ray's tissues were donated through the N.J. Sharing Network.
