Gloria June Sankey Klimack
Gloria June (Sankey) Klimack, 88, of Harmony went home to be with the Lord on Friday while under the care of St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
She was born June 29, 1924, in Zelienople. She was the daughter of the late Brandt and Jane Wallace (Cunningham) Sankey.
Gloria was an active and longtime member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed singing in the choir. She served as the district chairperson for Beaver and Butler county L.C.W. for many years. She was a devoted volunteer of the Lancaster Township Blood Bank. Gloria was well known for her Tupperware parties and enjoyed her role as a manager for more than four years. In addition, she taught ceramic classes out of her own home.
Gloria leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 64 years, Walter J. Klimack of Harmony, who she married on Sept. 6, 1948; her two daughters, Barbara Echard and her husband, David, of Ohio and Patricia Ziegler and her husband, John, of Harmony; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Bryon Klimack, who passed away on March 5, 1981; three brothers, Howard, Ralph and Lee Sankey; and four sisters, Isabelle Beighey, Jane Retzer, Betty Kennedy and Janice Monk.
Gloria was the last surviving of her seven siblings.
KLIMACK - A celebration of life ceremony for Gloria June (Sankey) Klimack, who passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, PA 16037, with the Rev. Barbara Love officiating.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Gloria's family extends an invitation to join them for a time of fellowship and memories.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
