Gregory 'Jack' Reott
Gregory C. "Jack" Reott, 89, of East Butler died Monday evening at his home.
He was born Oct. 13, 1920, in East Butler, a son of the late Anthony and Stella Geibel Reott.
Mr. Reott was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. His service was in the European theater and in Africa, and he had been awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge.
He retired in 1982 as a unit operator in the stainless department at Butler Armco after 36 years.
Jack was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
He greatly enjoyed traveling the United States in his motor home. He also enjoyed golf and model trains.
His wife, Marie E. Covert, who he married Feb. 19, 1942, preceded him in death on Dec. 29, 2003. A great-granddaughter, a brother, and three sisters also preceded him in death.
Surviving are six daughters and their husbands, Helen and Sam Duffy of Butler, Rose Marie and Robert Green of Chicora, Carol and David Trimeloni of Naperville, Ill., Jackie and Dean Paulsen of Sarver and Vickie and Larry Boyle and Ruth Ann and Daniel Schnur, all of Butler; his son, Gregory C. Reott Jr. and his wife, Tammy Reott, of East Butler; a brother, Clement Reott of Herman; two sisters, Virginia Reott of Butler and Phyllis Karenbauer of Herman; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive him.
REOTT - Friends of Gregory C. "Jack" Reott, who died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery mausoleum with military honors by the Ceremonial Honor Guard of the VFW Post 249 of Butler and American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora.
The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Friday at the church to recite the rosary.
