June A. (Seitz) Burkert
June A. (Seitz) Burkert, 81, of Evans City passed away Saturday while under the care of Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born April 27, 1931, in Struthers, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Roy and Velma (Bortmas) Seitz.
June was a devoted lifetime member of the Church of God at Evans City, which is now the Church of God at Connoquenessing. She was a former member of the Evans City VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She and her husband volunteered their time to Meals on Wheels for many years. During her free time, June enjoyed collecting recipes, cooking and baking for her family and her fellow church members. She also enjoyed reading and gardening. Above all, her laughter and good-hearted spirit will be truly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Cranmer and her husband, Charles, of Butler; her granddaughter, Ashley Cranmer of Butler; and her sister, Opal Seitz of Altoona.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Grant L. Burkert, who passed away on March 16, 2011; and her three sisters, Velma Kroll, Betty Winterhalter and Alverta Skidmore.
BURKERT - The family of June A. (Seitz) Burkert, who passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, will welcome friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Church of God at Connoquenessing, 1247 Evans City Road, Connoquenessing.
An additional viewing will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of a funeral ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Keith A. Karns officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Evans City Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
