Kippard I. "Kip" Pentz, 61, of Emlenton went to be with the Lord late Monday evening. Mr. Pentz died unexpectedly of natural causes at home.
Kippard was born Dec. 20, 1956, in Oil City. He was the son of the late Rev. Howard L. and the Rev. Carole Kuntz Pentz.
He was a 1975 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in Foxburg, and graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in industrial arts.
Mr. Pentz taught industrial arts in several public schools over the years and also had owned and operated KVKK Pentz Construction in Canandaigua, N.Y.
He was a member of the Church of God of Anderson in Indiana, and was a seventh generation member of the Church of God at the Whitehall Camp and Conference Center in Emlenton.
At the time of his passing, Mr. Pentz was the longest serving usher at Whitehall Camp, having served at camp meetings and in the tabernacle for more than 50 years. He was also a well-known highly respected lay minister in the Church of God.
Kip enjoyed carpentry, model trains and telling "cheesy" jokes, but most especially, he enjoyed the company of his family, whom he loved and adored.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie L. Pentz, whom he married Feb. 24, 1978, at the Dutch Hill Church of God.
Also surviving are two children, Kipprie L. Poellnitz and her husband, Robert, of Meadville, and Koah I. Pentz and his wife, Amy, of Emlenton; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Victoria, Vanessa, Devon, Deja, Emmaleigh, Emary and Luke. Kip was looking forward to the birth of a granddaughter in January; a great-grandchild, Exavier Kippard; two brothers, Keith Pentz and his wife, Gail, of Florida, and Karl Pentz and his wife, Lori, of West Freedom; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many friends and church family.
In addition to his parents, Kip was preceded in death by a daughter, Violet Lynn; and two grandchildren, Jonah Vanek and Dylan Rae.
