Mary Beth Cooper
The Guest Book is expired.
Mary Beth Cooper, 51, of Butler passed away Monday.
She was born on Oct. 11, 1961, and was the daughter of Richard (Dick) and Carole (Zahand) Kaltenbach of Renfrew.
She married Dwayne Cooper 33 years ago this month and had great pride and love for her children.
She was a 1980 graduate of Knoch High School and a 1993 graduate of Slippery Rock State University, obtaining her master's degree in 1999.
Beth has been a teacher in the Butler School District since 1993, teaching elementary students at Meridian and Center Avenue elementary schools. She served as an asset instructor advancing science curriculum in all of Butler's elementary schools and was awarded the Carnegie Science 2010 Chairman's Elementary Educator award. Beth also oversaw the Camp Invention program each summer for years. She loved her students.
Beth was a lifelong member of the St. Fidelis Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was involved in the Christian Women's Association. Every year she made a gift packet for the church's graduating seniors and sent care packages to church college students and ones serving overseas.
She loved bowling on Saturday evenings, her daily four-mile walk, weekend family time and her Pittsburgh Pirates. But her greatest love was her grandchildren, who brought her so much love and joy.
She is survived by her husband, Dwayne Cooper of Butler; her son, Brian and Jessica (Grupp) Cooper of Butler; her daughter, Rebecca and Jeff Bichler of Cranberry Township; her beloved grandchildren, Sophia Cooper, and Landon and baby girl Bichler; her parents, Richard and Carole Kaltenbach of Renfrew; two sisters, Cathie and Craig Brennan and Sue Dumas; her brother, Michael and Bradene Kaltenbach; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
