Susan Lamb Carr
Susan Lamb Carr, 63, of Santa Rosa, Calif., formerly of Mars, passed away May 7 in the care of her family after a two-year battle with breast cancer.
An extra ray of sunshine came into this world when she was born on July 15, 1949, in New York City.
Susie graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelors of science and masters of science in education. She received her principal's certification from Duquesne University.
Susie taught in the Pittsburgh inner city schools for 25 years. Generously, she often opened her heart and home to her students.
Susie moved to Santa Rosa, Calif., in 1995 to be closer to her sisters and her mom.
She retired from teaching, and opened new adventures. Many knew her as the Santa lady for the original Santa Clauses she made. Each one she made had her artist's touch, even sculpting the faces from clay.
Susie pursued her passion for tennis and was involved in many leagues over the years. But her biggest joy was raising her now teenage daughter, Anna. A classy lady, but willing partner in crime. Susie delighted in many hilarious escapades with her sisters and mom.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Dick of Santa Rosa, Calif.; her sisters, Janet Lamb of Citrus Heights, Calif., Barbara Lamb (John Taylor) of Rohnert Park, Calif., Laurel Colonello (Larry) of Evans City, Allison Regan (Mark) of Rohnert Park, Calif., and Tricia Lamb and her companion, Brion Harrington, of Rohnert Park, Calif.; her honorary sister, Heather Marburger (Joe) of Harmony; nieces, Rhiannon, Nichole, Leah, Victoria, Katie, Mattie; nephews, Steven, Andy, Ken, Joe and Jack, but most of all the love of her life, Anna Nguyun Carr at home.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Alice Lamb; her sister, Carole Hoehle; and infant daughter, Meredith Carr.
CARR - Services for Susan Lamb Carr, who passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, were in California.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Sonoma County Humane Society, 5345 Highway 12, Santa Rosa, CA 95407.
