Sylvia Irene Hilliard, 79, of Butler passed away Saturday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born Jan. 10, 1939, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Esper) Paganelli.
She belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 117.
Sylvia had worked at Friedman's at the Greater Butler Mart for several years.
She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, gambling and crocheting. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with family and friends.
Sylvia was a great cook of Syrian and Italian foods and enjoyed hosting holidays and events with her family and friends. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family and friends.
Surviving are her granddaughter, Jennifer Hilliard and her fiancé, Jason Greely, of Irwin; two sisters, Stella Skal Reddick and her significant other, Richard Pachulski, and Deborah (Richard) Haley, all of Butler; and two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Mila.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Mike and Beth Griffith, Kathy Fazzino, Barb Johnson, Gordon Frole, Lori Moore and Leslie Griffith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Hilliard, who passed away June 2, 1978; a son, Robert J. Hilliard, who died Oct. 19, 2017; and a brother, Raymond Paul Paganelli.
HILLIARD - A blessing service for Sylvia Irene Hilliard, who died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with the Rev. Aleksandr J. Schrenk officiating.
