Raymond N. Kummer, 79, of West Sunbury passed away Thursday at Allegheny General Hospital following an extended illness.

Ray was born June 14, 1934, in Butler. He was the son of the late Daniel Kummer and the late Lulla Weidman Kummer.
He had been employed as a coal miner for more than 20 years at Fawn Mine 91 in Saxonburg.
Ray is survived by two daughters, Consuelo Bennett and her husband, Red, of Butler and Jacinda Mosby of Virginia; two sons, Daniel Kummer of West Sunbury and Sanjay Mosby and his wife, Alysha, of Butler; three grandchildren; and one sister, Elenor Heidelberg of Mars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Freshcorn Kummer, who died in 1991; four sisters; and two brothers.
Kummer - The family of Raymond N. Kummer, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, will receive friends at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert V. Mathias officiating. Burial will be private.
