Albert T. Salapa, 81, of Renfrew, formerly of Munhall, died Tuesday evening at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia of Cabot.

Born in Whitaker, Pa., on July 23, 1932, he was the son of the late John and Anna Korn Salapa.
He was a bricklayer for McIntosh-Hemphill on Pittsburgh's South Side. He then worked as a custodian for the Upper St. Clair School District.
Albert was a dedicated volunteer at the Tanglewood Center.
He served in the United States Army, and he was a member of the CrossWay Church Assemblies of God in Valencia.
Surviving are his two daughters, Pamela J. Rush (Daniel) of Munhall and Nadine C. Napierkowski (Thomas) of Middlesex Township; his grandchildren, John and Ryan Napierkowski, Lauren Napierkowski Busch (Jon), and Matthew and Michael Napierkowski; his sister, Dolores Kontra of Georgia; his brother, Thomas (Kathy) Salapa of Munhall; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Demchsin Salapa, who he married on Oct. 27, 1956, and who died on April 6, 2005.
