Larry D. Karnes, 78, of Connoquenessing passed away at 11:40 p.m. Thursday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born April 30, 1936, in Hilliards, the son of the late Wayne E. Karnes and the late Genevieve (McKissick) Karnes.
Larry enjoyed hunting.
He had worked at Pullman Standard and also at Joy Mining.
He was also a veteran of U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane (Gladd) Karnes, who he married Oct. 31, 1964; three daughters, Jacqueline Karnes of Renfrew, Tammy Wagner of Butler and Tracy Riddell of Butler; one son, Michael (Milann) Karnes of Chicora; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Joy Hoffman of Fenelton.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
KARNES - Friends of Larry D. Karnes, who died Thursday, May 1, 2014, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. with Dr. Curtis McDaniel officiating. Burial will be private.
