Elizabeth S. "Betty" Balsiger, 93, of Newhaven Court, formerly of Butler, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Newhaven Court at Clearview.

She was born April 1, 1921, in Slippery Rock to the late Harry S. King and Ruth E. (McGarvey) King.
Mrs. Balsiger was a homemaker and an active member of Hill United Presbyterian Church.
During World War II, she was a shell shop inspector.
Mrs. Balsiger was a former member of the BUCO Travel Trailer Club and she and her husband enjoyed camping in their travel trailer.
Mrs. Balsiger is survived by her son, Robert Byron "Rob" Balsiger and his wife, Valerie, of Butler; her four grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruth McKinney of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron D. "Barney" Balsiger, who she married Jan. 4, 1943, and who passed away Aug. 24, 1997, and her two brothers, William King and Kenneth King.
Balsiger- The friends of Elizabeth S. "Betty" Balsiger, who passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Clark Sawyer of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
