Josephine M. "Jo" Cornibe, 99, of the Lowrie House, formerly of Hickory Street, passed away Tuesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Shamut, Elk County, on June 10, 1915, Jo was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Frances Gregory Grecco.
She was a homemaker and was formerly employed at the Spade Shirt Factory for six years and was an assistant supervisor of the Dietary Department at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 13 years, retiring in June 1977.
Jo was a member of the Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where she was part of the 55 & Alive Club, Legion of Mary and Saint Michael's Women's Guild.
She is survived by her two sons, Paul A. Cornibe Jr. and his wife, Marcia, of Butler, and David L. Cornibe and his wife, Martha, of Butler; her sister, Lorraine Tamburlin of Brockport; her eight grandchildren; her 14 great-grandchildren; her great-great-grandchild; her stepgrandchild; and her two stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Cornibe Sr., who passed away on July 18, 1994; one stepgranddaughter; four brothers; and six sisters.
Cornibe - The friends of Josephine M. "Jo" Cornibe, who passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Saint Michael's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
