Active in the community, Roberta helped start the Mars Junior Women's Club, organized getting street signs installed in Mars and served on the committee of the Mars Community Recreational Association, which started the Mars Community Pool. She also chaired and organized the first blood drive in Mars.
She was a lifelong member of Mars United Methodist Church, now Dutilh, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.
Roberta enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, dancing, playing cards with friends and following all the Pittsburgh sports teams. Above all, she most loved being with her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.

"Dick" Bell of Mars; her grandchildren, Danielle M. Selle-Schill and her husband, Nathan, of Chicago, and Robert W. Selle of West Sunbury; and her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Selle, who she married June 27, 1953, and who died Aug. 20, 2004, and by her sister, Floridabell Pinkerton, and her brothers, Alden and Orion Pinkerton.
