Ruth J. Snyder, 92, of Butler, formerly of Cupps Road in Renfrew, passed away Friday at the Chicora Medical Center.
Born on May 3, 1922, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Frank Rivers and Edith (Coovert) Rivers.
Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.
Surviving are her sons, Robert P. (Judy) Snyder of Cedar Grove, N.C., and James A. (Leslie) Snyder of Endicott, N.Y.; her six grandchildren, Denise, Kandi, Robert, Jackie, Lindsey and Stacey; her two great-grandchildren, and her two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. "Art" Snyder, who died on July 23, 1996; her daughter, Susan Fennick; her two brothers, and her two sisters.
Snyder- Friends of Ruth J. Snyder, who died Friday, June 20, 2014, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian, with the Rev. James Murphy, pastor, officiating. Inurnment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
