Edna M. Gainan, 92, of Cabot, formerly of Brentwood, passed away Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born on Sept. 8, 1921, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late George and Barbara (Schwartz) Hoehl.
Edna was a 1939 graduate of South Hills High School. She worked at the Irvin Works as a secretary, then later became a homemaker.
Edna was active in the Brentwood Civic Club. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, baking and traveling.
Surviving are her loving husband, Thomas F. Gainan, who she married on July 20, 1946; her son, Thomas G. Gainan of Sandown, N.H.; her granddaughter, Marilyn (Jason) Gainan of Leominster, Mass.; her grandson, Mark Gainan of Portland, Ore.; her niece and nephew, Jeanne (Bob) Hauer of Cabot and George Hoehl of Upper Marlboro, Md., and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Caroline Gainan, and her eight siblings.
Gainan - There will be no visitation for Edna M. Gainan, who passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg, with the Rev. Jack Hartman officiating. Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
