Jaroslaw Pelech, 89, of Lyndora passed away Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
Born on Oct. 10, 1924, in Poland, he was a son of the late Denys and Katryn Charko Pelech.
He was employed as a welder for 20 years at Pullman Standard until the closing of the plant in 1982.
He was a member of the St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, Lyndora. He was also a longtime member of the Highfield Community Center, and he enjoyed playing golf.
Surviving are his wife, Ksenia Martyniuk Pelech, who he married on May 14, 1947, in Germany; his two daughters, Olga (John) Edinger of Butler, and Kathryn (Ronald) Pelech-Plunkard of Slippery Rock, who was his caregiver for the past 39 years, and his grandson, John Edinger Jr. of Butler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers.
Pelech- The family and friends of Jaroslaw Pelech, who passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, with a Parastas service at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Douglas Lorence officiating. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
