SFC Robert Smith, U.S. Army (Ret.), 84, of Warner Robins, Ga., formerly of Butler, entered into rest Thursday.
Robert was born on Aug. 27, 1929, in Butler. After 24 years of service to his country, including serving in the Vietnam War, he retired as sergeant first class.
He enjoyed going to baseball games and traveling, and he was an avid golfer.
His parents, Floyd and Grace Smith, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Pauline Smith of Warner Robins; his daughters, Roberta (Glenn) Wilson of Warner Robins, Carmen McCarthy of Woodstock, Ga., and Hannelore (Klaus) Nonnast of Germany; his five grandchildren; and his five great-grandchildren.
Smith - Services will be private for SFC Robert Smith, who passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to The Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
