Wilma J. Bauer, 81, of Butler died unexpectedly Friday at the emergency room of Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 6, 1933, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Kuhn and Claire (Michel) Kuhn.
Wilma was a homemaker, and she also the secretary and bookkeeper for the Chester L. Bauer Excavating and Grading Co. for 22 years.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, the Christian mothers at St. Mary's and also sang in their choir. She had enjoyed sewing and singing along with her player piano.
Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Chester L. "Dutch" Bauer, who she married June 24, 1954; 12 children, Louis Bauer and Ken Druse of Newton, N.J., Marie (Jim) Baronetski of West Sunbury, Linda (Rick) Mazzanti of Butler, Gary Bauer of Birmingham, Ky., Ray Bauer of Butler, Barbara (Bill) Holt of Butler, Les (Betsy) Bauer of Butler, Howard (Leann) Bauer of Butler, Ruth (Lee) Jamison of Roanoke, Va., Walt Bauer and Susan Druschel of Harmony, Dave (Michelle) Bauer of Emlenton and Chuck (Sarah) Bauer of Chicora; 32 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Rita Musthaf of Butler, Birty Lou Steighner of Butler and Yvonne Orloski of Eau Claire.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Veronica.
BAUER - Friends of Wilma J. Bauer, who died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
Internment will follow in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery.
