Sandra L. "The Real Mae West" Collins, 70, of Butler died Wednesday afternoon at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born Dec. 2, 1943, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Leonard C. DeFelice and Margaret (Hrip) DeFelice.
She graduated from high school and worked as a case worker for the state Department of Public Assistance for 29 years, retiring in 2000. Following that, she was a service representative with the Social Security office in Butler for 11 years.
She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, St. Paul's Christian mothers, and the South Butler Volunteer Fire Department ladies auxiliary. She had volunteered for the Crime Victims Services.
Surviving are her son, Timothy Allen Collins of Butler; one daughter, Rebecca Lynn (Mark) Kerner of Butler; one brother, Leonard M. DeFelice of North Carolina; one sister, Ann Marie "Annie" DeFelice of Butler; two granddaughters, Miranda Leigh Ann Collins of Parker and Adelynn G. Kerner of Butler; one grandson, Mark Anthony Kerner II of Butler; one great-granddaughter, Alydia Claire Thornton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
COLLINS - There will not be a visitation for Sandra L. "The Real Mae West" Collins, who died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014. A Mass of Christian burial already was held Friday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Butler.
Arrangements are by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
