John A. Giancola, 87, of Zelienople passed away Tuesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.

Born on July 12, 1927, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary (DeCaria) Giancola.
John was the owner and operator of Johnny's Cab Service in Zelienople for 25 years. He was a professional musician, playing accordion and organ around the United States. John was also the music arranger for several bands in the Beaver Valley area during the 1950s.
Above all, he enjoyed cooking and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his three children, Andrew C. Giancola and his wife, Peg, of Alexandria, Va., Joni L. Pelland and her husband, Greg, of Waterford, Mich., and Dr. John A. "Jack" Giancola Jr., and his wife, Denise, of Sarver; and his four grandchildren, Matthew Joseph Pelland, Catherine Grace Pelland, Maria Elizabeth Giancola and Olivia Catherine Giancola.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Veda C. Giancola, who passed away on Dec. 6, 2007, and his five siblings, Jack and Robert Giancola, Mary Ross, Helen Masotti and Elizabeth Savelli.
Giancola- John's family will welcome friends of John A. Giancola, who passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Pastor John Hoogerbrugge officiating.
