Hartzell D. Young
Hartzell D. Young, 79, of Perry Township (Queenstown), Armstrong County, died Thursday at his home.
Born April 12, 1930, in Washington Township, Armstrong County, he was the son of Ollie B. and Jemina A. Guthrie Young.
He was the husband of the late Barbara A. Wetzel Young, who he married Oct. 29, 1958.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 488 in Bradys Bend. He was a truck driver for Michigan Limestone Mine in Bradys Bend, a self-employed truck driver, a logger for Blakely Logging in Petrolia, and a coal miner for the Tesone Coal Co. and Rosebud Mining.
He served in the U.S. Army in an armor division in the Korean War. He was discharged at the rank of sergeant first class.
He is survived by a daughter, Cindy L. William Crowley of Bradys Bend and two grandsons, Timothy Strobel of Bradys Bend and Jason Crowley of Bradys Bend.
He was preceded in death by his wife, who died March 6, 1997; his parents; five brothers; and four sisters.
YOUNG - Friends of Hartzell D. Young, who died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home, 105 Fourth St., East Brady.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul DeBacco of the Criswell Bible Baptist Church officiating. Private burial will be in the Callensburg Cemetery, Licking Township, Clarion County.
