Dale Cody Barkley Jr.
Dale Cody Barkley Jr., 65, of Slippery Rock, Worth Township, passed away at his home due to an accident at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
He was born in Grove City Borough, Mercer County, on March 12, 1947, to Dale Cody Barkley Sr. and Ruth Emily McCandless Barkley. He married Karen Sue McClymonds on July 15, 1967.
He graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1965. He was employed as a truck driver by Erie Enterprises. He was a Protestant and was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed helping people, spending time at home with his family and working in his garage.
His survivors include his wife, K. Sue Barkley at home; a daughter, Michelle Lee Barkley of Worcester, Mass.; a son, "C. J." Cody John Barkley and his wife, Julie L., of Slippery Rock; a nephew, William G. "Bill" and his wife, Melissa D., McClymonds of Slippery Rock; parents, Dale C. and Ruth Emily McCandless Barkley of Grove City; three sisters, Nancy L. and her husband, Bill, Allman of Saxonburg, Dianna R. and her husband, Milton, McCommons of Dauphin, Pa., and Ida Mae and her husband, Robert, Brown of Linville, Ga.; a grandson, Cody Lawrence Barkley; four grandnieces, who were like grandchildren to him, Ashley S. McClymonds, Brittany L. Hays, Carlee R. McClymonds and Delaney R. McClymonds; and several other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John H. "Farmer" Barkley.
BARKLEY - Funeral services for Dale Cody Barkley Jr., who passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, will be at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, presiding.
Friends will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, Slippery Rock, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Interment will be at Slippery Rock Cemetery, Slippery Rock Township.
