Cecelia C. Sloboda
Cecelia C. Sloboda, 86, of Butler died late Thursday evening at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born May 13, 1926, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Rocco and Anna (Lapore) Salvaggio.
Cecelia was a homemaker, a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She was an avid card player, was an excellent mother, and was mostly proud of and cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandson.
Surviving are her children, Gloria Jean (Ray) Ramelli of Butler, John P. (Brenda) Sloboda of Butler, Rocco J. (Darlene) Sloboda of Butler, Steven R. (Cindy) Sloboda of Sebastian, Fla., and Patty M. (Mark) McKinney of High Point, N.C; her grandchildren, Raymond, Bobby, Dave, Misty, Michael, Brian, Aaron, Shane, Derek, Nathan, Jason, Jerrod, Caite, Jess and Kaitlin; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one sister, Matilda McClafferty of Butler.
She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild; four sisters; and four brothers.
SLOBODA - Friends of Cecelia C. Sloboda, who died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler. The Rev. Kevin Fazio will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Parish Cemetery, Butler.
The bereavement committee of St. Michael's Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home for a vigil service.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
