Larry D. Shaw
Larry D. Shaw, 68, of Worthington passed away Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
He was born Oct. 24, 1944, in Kittanning and was the son of Jonas Shaw and Faye Shannon Shaw McMunn.
He was raised in the Ford City area by his late mother and stepfather, Faye and Lawrence P. McMunn.
Larry married Catherine B. Rupp on April 15, 1967, in the Goheenville Presbyterian Church.
He attended Ford City High School. After leaving school, he attended Vale Technical School for mechanics in Blairsville, Pa., graduating in 1964. He returned to night school in Kittanning and completed his GED in 1994.
He was a member of the Worthington Presbyterian Church, an avid NASCAR fan, especially cheering for Dale Jr., and also he was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was employed for 41 years at a local business in the maintenance department before retiring in 2008.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Catherine B. Rupp Shaw; his dog, Macca; plus his extended family, his sisters-in-law, Maxine Rupp of Ford City and Rosalie Rommes of Gibsonia; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Wendell and Joan Flick of Ford Cliff and Kenneth and Mary Rupp of Goheenville. He is also survived by five nieces, six nephews, four great-nieces, five great-nephews, two great-great nieces and one great-great nephew. Several cousins also survive.
SHAW - At his request, there will be no public viewing or services for Larry D. Shaw, who passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013. Arrangements were entrusted to the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.
