Marie A. McElhatten
Marie A. McElhatten, 93, of Butler went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 26, 1920, in New Castle to the late James Michael and Florence (Harmon) Michael.
Mrs. McElhatten was a homemaker and attended the GraceWay Community Church. She enjoyed collecting dolls, playing the piano, flower gardening, cooking and baking and especially enjoyed being with her family. She enjoyed meeting people and having conversation with everyone. Marie was a hard working person and enjoyed doing things for others. She always had a smile on her face and everyone enjoyed being around her. She was always so appreciative of what others did for her. First and foremost, she loved the Lord and then her family and friends.
Mrs. McElhatten is survived by two sons, James McElhatten and his wife, Ginny, of DeKalb, Ill., and David McElhatten and his wife, Anne, of Clearwater, Fla.; one daughter, Colleen Trulick and her husband, Dick, of Butler; five grandchildren, Brian McElhatten and his wife, Tracy, Melissa Babiak, Ashley McElhatten, Ryan Trulick and his wife, Stephanie, and Todd Trulick and his wife, Jessica; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla and Peyton McElhatten, Landen, Chase and Isabella Babiak, Gavin Trulick and Lilia Trulick; one brother, Joseph Michael and his wife, Anita, of Clarion; one sister-in-law, Jean Michael of Chicora, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene V. McElhatten, who she married Oct. 23, 1946, and who passed away April 21, 2006; one sister, Elsie Kelly, and three brothers, Everett, Arthur and Gerald Michael.
McElhatten - Friends of Marie A. McElhatten, who died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Butler County Memorial Park, Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum, 380 Evans City Road, Butler, with Pastor David West of the GraceWay Community Church officiating. Burial will be in the Butler County Memorial Park.
