C. Lloyd 'Bud' Anderson
C. Lloyd "Bud" Anderson, 66, of Butler, a retired Petrolia and Butler businessman, passed away Saturday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler following a courageous 11 year battle with cancer.
Bud was born in Butler on Dec. 25, 1946, the son of Chalmar L. Anderson Sr. and Alice Cook Anderson Smith.
Bud was a 1964 graduate of the Fairview Township Karns City High School.
Bud owned and operated the Centurion Restaurant in Petrolia for many years and later owned and operated Anderson's Common Court Restaurant in Butler for more than a quarter century. Mr. Anderson retired as the operations maintenance supervisor at the Hydro Plant at Witco Chemical/Sonneborn in Petrolia.
Bud's love for hunting and fishing took him on over 100 hunting trips to Canada, the western United States, Hawaii, West Virginia, and Newfoundland. Bud's fondest hunting memory was a bear hunt with his two grandsons where they each bagged a bear. Bud enjoyed participating in the $10 Elk Lottery draw in Pennsylvania, where he bagged a bull elk that scored over 400 BC Points. The elk ranked in the top two free range elks that were taken in the U.S. Later in life, Bud's enjoyment came from feeding and protecting animals on his farm.
Bud was a master captain on the Great Lakes where he enjoyed taking families on chartered fishing trips. He and his wife enjoyed many vacations to Hawaii and Florida. In his younger years, Bud was a talented athlete, and was the manager and pitcher of a fast pitch softball team. He enjoyed bowling and averaged over 200 in classic league.
Bud is survived by his wife of 21 years, Christina Snow Anderson; his only daughter, Machell Anderson Krumpe (Kenneth); his two stepsons, Shayne and Chase Texter; his two grandsons, Brandon and Tyler Krumpe; his seven step grandchildren, Lea, Kaylie, Chase, Dakota, Bella, Chad and Jaimie; his sister, June Wallace; his half sister, Robin Weston, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Lopinski.
