KEIL, Anni
May 21, 1924 - November 10, 2012
With the deepest of sadness, we announce the passing of Anni Keil. After a long and happy life she was peacefully taken into the arms of her Lord and Savior at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her caring husband of 62 years, Oskar; two children Joachim and Sylvia (Jay); four grandchildren Michael, Christopher (Amanda), Branden, and Nadine; and a brother (Fred), a sister (Lizzi) plus numerous relatives in Germany. Born in 1924 into a German family living in Czechoslovakia, Anni immigrated to Canada in 1958 to join her husband in their new home in Calgary. She worked as a seamstress and excelled at baking and cooking traditional German cuisine. The family enjoyed traveling and many outdoor activities including skiing, which Anni taught them. She returned to Germany often and treasured her visits with relatives. Anni continued to be active despite a growing number of physical limitations amazing everyone with her resilience and faith. A Celebration of Anni's life will be held at PIERSON'S Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue S.E.) on Thursday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m. with a Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers tributes may be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada. Thank you Anni/Mutti/Oma for giving us a lifetime of love, kindness, and generosity.
