1914 - 2013
Charles Edward (Ted) Jaquish of Calgary passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the age of 98. Ted was born in 1914 in Calgary and was raised mainly in Priddis and Calgary. He was a true Albertan. Ted served Overseas in the Army from 1940 to 1945, and was always proud of his connection with the Calgary Highlanders. Ted is survived by his wife Alice; son Howard (Karen); daughter Betty; grandchildren, Scott, Lori (Doug), Chris (Renata), Susannah (Eric), and Katie; five great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mabel and Delores; and many nieces and nephews. He was the last of the eight Jaquish siblings, Bill, Jack, Waldy, Rod, Ted, Don, Ken, and Agnes. Ted was afflicted with Alzheimer's that progressed slowly over many years. Private Interment at Union Cemetery, Calgary. Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew's United Church (2035 - 26A Street S.W., corner of 21 Avenue and 26A Street S.W.) on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.leydens.com.
