COOPER, Constance Joan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Connie Cooper (nee Harle), passed away on January 3, 2013 at the age of 76 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Connie was born in Vermilion, Alberta and graduated from the University of Alberta as a nurse in 1958. It was then that Connie began her selfless compassionate journey as a nurse, mother and grandmother. Connie's family settled in Calgary in 1966 where she raised her five favorite children and ten favorite grandchildren with tireless devotion. Her legacy of putting others before herself will be carried on by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Heather (Michael) Culbert, Dana (Nadine Jodoin) Cooper, Greg (Connie) Cooper, Corene Warnock, and Cheryl (Serge Ouimette) Cooper plus her grandchildren Lindsay and Sean Culbert, Alex, Gabriel and Nicolas Cooper, Derek Cooper, Brooke Warnock, Alana, Erica and Jocelyne Green. Connie was predeceased by her mother Rose Familinow, and is survived by her sister Norma (Buddy Smith) Hamilton-Smith and brother Gerry (Eileen) Harle. A celebration of life will be held in March in Calgary and further information will be forthcoming. If friends so desire, donations can be made in Connie's memory to the Alberta Cancer Foundation. A special thank you to the Rosedale Hospice team - Heather, Alison, Gabbi, Donna and Dr. Linda Fong and all staff for their extreme compassion, loving care and efforts on Connie's behalf. Condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting Arrangements entrusted to EDEN BROOK FUNERAL HOME and RECEPTION CENTRE, 24223 Township Road 242, Calgary, AB (17 Avenue S.W. and Lower Springbank Road).
