Donald Wing Lee

LEE _ Donald Wing 1949 - 2004 Donald Wing Lee passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 13, 2004 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 55. Donald is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Lily; his sons, Daniel and David; his mother Lung Fong Lee; his sisters, Jane Wong of Maple Creek, SK, Judy (Sam) Lee, Mary Jane (Harry) Hong of Calgary; and brother Gene of Maple Creek and their families. He was predeceased by his father Chung Kow Lee and by his brother Kai Wing Lee. Donald was born June 12, 1949 in Toishan, Canton, China and moved to Canada in 1964. After moving to Canada, he completed high school in Maple Creek, SK, while working at the Star Cafe that he owned jointly with his brother Gene. He completed a two year University Transfer program at the Medicine Hat College in 1973. He moved to Calgary where he completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at the University of Calgary in 1975. Donald achieved his Certified General Accountant's designation in 2001. Donald met his wife Lily in 1979 in Calgary through the Alberta Table Tennis Association. They were married in 1980. Donald has worked for the City of Calgary as an accountant since 1985. Donald is a kind, gentle and good-natured man. He is a hard worker who takes pride in everything he does. Donald is a handyman, and can fix everything. He enjoys spending time with his family, jogging, and working out. His passion is table tennis which he played since he was a teenager, winning numerous championships at the provincial level. Donald also enjoys cooking, reading, good food and good company. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, November 19, 2004 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Foster's Garden Chapel, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Brian Hubka officiating with Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Donald's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, T2G 3Y6.
