STUCKERT, Dorothy (Deines)
March 22, 1920 - November 17, 2012
We are sad to announce that our much-loved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on November 17, 2012. During her last weeks with us, she visited with family and friends and even had an outing to the mall last Thursday. Dorothy is survived by her children: Ron (Diana), Tom (Nola), and Donna Stevenson (Bob). Also surviving are her grandchildren: Kevin (Keitha), Greg (Helen), Tana (Cliff), Robbie (Krystal), Naomi (Matthew), Megan (Craig) and Kyle (Niki); and great-grandchildren: Kessa, Kayla, Sam, Max, Aurora, Tyler, Travis, Olivia, Charlie, Jackson and Justice. Dorothy is also survived by her very special friend, Marilyn McKevitt. One of eleven children, Dorothy is survived by her siblings: Arnold, Alvin, Wilma, Eleanor, Norma, Lois and Verna. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred, in 2009 and by brothers: Arthur, Lloyd and Clarence. Dorothy was born in Bassano and moved to Calgary as a small child. She was raised in Bridgeland where she met Fred. They married on November 25, 1939 and were together for more than 69 years. Through the years, Dorothy raised her children, cared for her grandchildren, and kept close relationships with many friends and family. Grandma was a gentle, positive influence in the lives of those who knew her and had a wonderful quiet sense of humour. We adored her, and learned much from Grandma Dorothy over the years. A Celebration of Dorothy's Life will be held at the Calgary Winter Club (4611 - 14 Street N.W.) on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends wish, donations in Dorothy's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
