After a long and valiant struggle to maintain her independence despite failing health, Julie Dobrocki, long-time resident of Calgary, entered into rest at the age of 94. Julie is predeceased by her parents, Albin Dobrucki (1883 - 1968) and Anna Solecka (1898 - 1966), immigrants to Canada from Galicia when it was part of The Austro- Hungarian Empire, and her brother John Debrusky (1916 - 2000) of Kingston, ON. Julie is survived by her niece, Gayleen Garvin (John), great-nephew Jeffrey Garvin (Erin), great-great-nephews Shawn and Micah Garvin, all residents of Kingston, ON and her cousin Gloria Sokalski of Winnipeg, MB. A Celebration of Julie's Life by her friends and caregivers will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15 at Tuxedo Park Community Hall, 202 - 29 Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB and a family service will take place in Kingston, ON in the spring. Interment will follow at Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston, ON. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice.
