WRIGHT, Kathleen Mary
February 7, 1918 - January 7, 2013
Kathleen Mary Wright of Calgary passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 in her 95th year. Born in Calgary, Kathleen attended school at St. Mary's Girls School and in Red Deer. Kathleen earned her A.R.C.T. and taught piano lessons from her home for many years. After earning her teaching degree at the University of Calgary, she taught music in many schools throughout Southern Alberta and in Calgary. A devout Catholic, "Kay" served as organist in several Calgary parishes, including St. Joseph's, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Paul's and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Until the age of 92, Kathleen proudly lived in the family home built by her father and uncles in 1912. Kathleen is survived by her nephew, Michael and ever- faithful friends, Val and John Wood and Anne Moline. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Mary Wright, her brother Fred, and her sister-in-law Marjorie. Kathleen's kindness, generosity and determination will be remembered by all who knew her. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (2519 Edmonton Trail N.E.) on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
