September 24, 2013 - Calgary, AB
Leeron Haim Peretz passed away on September 24, 2013 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, AB. He lives on through his family which includes his mother Mickey Kolody, stepfather Ron Kolody, brother Ortal Peretz, father Yudha Peretz, grandmother Ruth Rosen, stepbrother Adi, stepmother Smadar Peretz as well as his stepsiblings, Michael, Travis and Kimberly Kolody, as well as his girlfriend Ashley Gordon and a huge group of friends who are too numerous to mention. Leeron had an undeniable charisma which touched everyone he met. He graduated from E.P. Scarlett in 2009. In his 23 years he lived a life fuller than most people could ever dream to have. His passion for a challenge made him a great example of a leader. From a very early age he took joy in the challenge of any sport and was eager to face any competition in hockey, skiing, lacrosse and basketball. Very opinionated, Leeron was able to sway anyone with his brilliant use of language. His strength and perseverance throughout life made him a light which was a privilege to experience. Leeron always fearlessly created his own path. In October 2011 he embarked on a trip around the world with a friend. His travels began in Mumbia, India where he blindly landed without any sure knowledge of what was to come. He later went on to meet his girlfriend Ashley in Thailand where they had an amazing month spontaneously traveling the country. Australia was last on his list which he spent eleven months continuing to shine his light into people's lives. He was forced to return home early in November 2012 due to an unexpected diagnosis of cancer. He gallantly fought for ten months before succumbing to T-cell A-L-L Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. A gathering to celebrate Leeron's life will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the family home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Leeron's true passion was skiing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing, 791 Strathcona Drive S.W., Calgary, AB T3H 1N8 (www.disabledskiing.ca). In living memory of Leeron Peretz, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
