SHERLOCK, Leslie Jean (nee May)
July 13, 1955 - August 6, 2013
Leslie Sherlock, the best wife, mom and daughter, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a fierce and courageous battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 34 years, Bill Sherlock, her children Geoff (Lindsey) and Kelli, her dad Kevin J. May (Marjorie - predeceased) and brother Kevin May Jr. (Michelle). Leslie had a pure, immeasurable love for her family and friends; she had a lot of friends, the real kind, from every decade and walk of her life. She also found joy in her furry companions; Mars Bar (her horse), Thumper and Boomer (her dogs). Leslie was a champion athlete who took her passion for fitness and life and taught it to thousands of children over her thirty plus years as a gym teacher. She cultivated Leadership, Commitment and Charity among her students. From as far as Nepal to as close as Nose Hill Park, she could always be found actively enjoying the great outdoors. Les lived her life with intention, found beauty in the ugliest days and believed that with positivity, patience and perseverance the impossible was possible. We will miss her ferocity, her contagious big laugh, her gift of gab, her cheeky sense of humor, her kind spirit, her inspiring attitude, the heart she wore on her sleeve and her loving arms. Her Honey Badger TEAM will be riding strong this weekend, with her in our heart, in the Alberta Ride To Conquer Cancer; donations appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Calgary Winter Club (4611 - 14 Street N.W.) on September 4, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and please dress Hawaiian; see "The Blog - www.lesliesherlock.blogspot.com". Photos, memories and condolences may be shared with Leslie's family through www.evanjstrong.com. Arrangements in care of EVAN J. STRONG FUNERAL SERVICES. Telephone: 403-265-1199.
