1931 - 2013
With great sadness the family announces the sudden but peaceful passing of Mary D'Souza at the age of 81. Mary was born in Coorg, India on February 5, 1931. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Reggie (Peggy), Cynthia (Philip), Sybil (Jude), Diana (Andrew), Daphne and Kevin (Greg), her grandchildren Karen, Jonathan (Molly), Danny (Pamela), Jennifer (Bobby), Sasha, Adrian, Michael, Ashley and Gabriel, and her great-grandchildren Luke, Ethan and Maya. She was predeceased by her loving husband George. Mary had the most feisty, determined personality, her home and her heart was always open and she made everyone feel welcome. She was known for her wit, her bossiness, her tough-love and her humour. A true matriarch. She certainly did not hesitate to speak her mind. She was a jack-of-many trades. She always kept herself super busy doing home-repairs, knitting, gardening, sewing and giving advice. She was a great cook and no one left her house without a delicious home cooked meal. We will celebrate her very full and vibrant life that she spent in India, Pakistan and Canada at a Funeral Service on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at St. Thomas More Parish, 15 Templebow Road N.E., Calgary at 3:00 p.m. Messages to the family may be left at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE and CREMATORIUM (at Lake Fraser Gate). Telephone: 403-297-0711. Honoured Provider of Dignity Memorial.
