Patrick MORROW

MORROW, Patrick (Pat)
July 16, 1968 - March 23, 2013
Surrounded by his loving wife Suzie, his beautiful boys Patrick, Ryan and Will, along with as many family, relatives and friends who could fit in the Foothills ICU room, our beloved Patrick Morrow passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB. Patrick is survived by his wife Suzie, sons Patrick, Ryan and Will, mother Gloria (Cole), father Len, sisters Brenda (Tom), and Lindy (Mike), along with many other relatives and countless friends. Patrick was an amazing husband to Suzie and an incredible friend to so many, but above all else a fanatical and devoted father to his three boys, who were the pride and joy of his life. Whether it was coaching the boys in hockey and lacrosse, spending time with them on family vacations to Panorama, nothing provided greater fulfillment than his role as Dad. In fact, Patrick stated on many occasions that the 6:00 a.m. drive to Saturday morning lacrosse or hockey, chatting with the boys about the game they were to play, sports, music or whatever was on their minds, complete with a stop at Tim Horton's, was his idea of a perfect day. His passion for the kids was not limited to his own boys. Patrick spent countless hours positively influencing all of the kids that he came in contact with. Whether it was coaching at the rink or just playing on the street in front of the house, he was the magnet that attracted everyone. You could not ask for a better friend than Patrick. He was adored by everyone he met and every person he touched became an immediate and long lasting friend. These friendships came from every stage of his life – his childhood friends in Winnipeg, relationships he developed and fostered with neighbours, through work, sports or coaching his kids, he was truly loved. Why was this? He was extremely funny, with a very sharp, quick wit, an engaging storyteller with an infectious laugh that drew people to him. He had a devious sense of humour and found a laugh in the most difficult situations; a completely selfless man who would drop whatever he was doing to help and support a family member or friend in need and did so on countless occasions. Patrick was a successful businessman who enjoyed a fulfilling career in his role as Western Canadian Director of Sales for Boston Scientific in Interventional Cardiology. Patrick was a great athlete who enjoyed a competitive game of golf, hockey, or long distance running, having completed numerous marathons, the highlight being the successful completion of the Ironman Triathlon in 2001. His passing in the prime of his life is a profound tragedy that has been met with shock, disbelief, incredible sadness and grief from all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving this wonderful man, no more so than Suzie and his boys. We are all better people for having had him in our lives. The family would like to thank the medical staff at both the Rockyview and Foothills Hospitals Intensive Care Units for their tremendous care and compassion. A celebration of Patrick's life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Glencoe Club, 636 - 29 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB.
